Board of Trustees

The Law Library is governed by a six-member Board of Trustees. The Board consists of four representatives from the Ventura County Superior Court, a representative from the Ventura County Board of Supervisors, and a member of the Ventura County Bar Association appointed by the County Board of Supervisors. Board members serve without compensation. The Board of Trustees meets monthly. Meetings are usually held in the Law Library’s Rare Book Room and are open to the public. Agendas and notices are posted on the window to left of the front door and just to the left of the Library entrance on the inside bulletin board. The Ventura County Law Library Board of Trustees functions in an administrative capacity. The Board has the exclusive power over the expenditure of funds in the “Law Library Trust Fund” on deposit with the Ventura County Treasurer and has the administrative control of the activities of the Law Library. The Law Library staff works at the will of the Board.
